Our philosophy

Design for the days after planting.

Our work connects design decisions with planting and future care. The brief distinguishes proposed visual direction from the physical work, materials and maintenance actually agreed. A smaller site can receive the same attention to its conditions without inventing a larger project.

Garden design setting with natural textures and shade

Planting is a long-term decision.

A garden is more than its first photograph. Sunlight, drainage, movement and ongoing care shape whether a planting plan works. We begin with the site and the time its owner can give to maintenance, then discuss a direction that suits both.

Vortega develops garden briefs and provides agreed landscaping and maintenance work. Site conditions, proposed planting, materials, labour and care arrangements are confirmed before a project begins.

Decide how the garden should be used: a quiet seat, open circulation, a planted boundary or a shared outdoor area. A clear purpose helps avoid filling every corner with plants that later obstruct movement.

A good service starts with useful information.

Describe the site, how you use it and what you want to change. Photos, dimensions and information about sunlight or drainage help prepare the first discussion.

Plant sizes, materials, preparation, labour and arrangements are recorded. Availability and site conditions may require adjustments, which must be agreed before substitution.

Design & care

A garden is a living setting, so its design and care need to be considered together. The space may be used for quiet evenings, practical access or a planted boundary, and each purpose affects the proposal. We encourage a brief that starts with the site and daily use, rather than treating an inspiration photograph as a ready-made plan.

The useful questions are often specific: where does water collect, which areas are shaded and how much care can the planting receive? These conditions help frame the design conversation. They do not support a guaranteed result from an image alone, and any additional drainage, structural or specialist work should be identified as a separate scope when relevant.
